Information for presenters

Papers

  • Extended Papers are allowed up to 10 pages.
  • Regular Papers are allowed up to 6 pages.
  • Short Papers are allowed up to 4 pages.

Each category includes figures and references in the total number of pages.

We will provide a laptop, and we recommend that author's files be installed on it prior to the session. We will accept presentations stored on CD's, floppy disks or USB memory sticks on the day.

Alternatively authors can provide their own laptops, but we would discourage this due to the time required to change over the connection to the data projector and to avoid any possible problems with incompatibility.

Please advise if you have any further AV requirements, e.g. OHP, TV, Video, Audio and we will endeavour to arrange these.

Instructions and Style Files for submissions are available here:

  • MS Word format
  • LaTeX format

Please convert your paper into PDF format before uploading it (the only accepted format):

  • PDF example

For machintosh Users, here is the doc file example:
  • Doc example
Video

Additional video material in standard VCD or SVCD avi/mpeg format (PAL) for the conference CD, with a maximum length of 5 minutes is encouraged. Please send to Benjamin BAYART the URL where your video can be uploaded, prior to the final deadline.

Posters and Demonstrations

Posters are limited to A0 (with portrait format/ A0 = 841x1189 mm or 33.11x46.81 in) in size. We will endeavour to provide additional equipment (such as tables, power, network connection, etc.) by request only. If you have such requests, please notify us as early as possible.

No specified style is requested but the A0 portrait format. Please convert your file in either PDF format before submitting.

Instructions for Poster Teasers
This year, at Eurohaptics, all poster presenters with a short paper will have to deliver a 45-second "teaser". We ask the authors of posters for short papers to provide a PowerPoint slide that will be included in a continuous presentation for the teaser session, which will take place before the coffee & poster break (the same day as the poster session). The slides will be run in sequence without a break, and no speaker will be allowed to excess this 45-second time limit due to the very tight schedule.

Here are a few recommendations to help authors to format your teaser:

  • Only a single PowerPoint slide is needed
  • It should provide a synthetic overview of your work
  • This slide should include the title of your talk, the name of the authors and their affiliations
  • We strongly recommend you not to include videos as we cannot guarantee that they will work
  • Please click here for a powerpoint teaser model. Please feel free to create your own layout, we only require that you keep the poster number on the upper right side of your slide as well as the On-screen Show option in Page Setup.
  • To submit the teaser, authors should:
    1. Name the file "teaser_<paperID>.ppt"
    2. Send it to Christian Duriez
  • Authors must send their teaser BEFORE July 1st.

Hands-on Demos

Hands-On Demos are an important distinguishing feature of conferences on Haptics; they are dedicated to people or institution eager to present their work, possibly related to a paper/poster of the Conference .

A concise abstract (one page max.) describing the demo purpose, organization, and equipment, possibly including pictures and other explanatory material, should be submitted. The Corresponding Author's name(s), affiliations, postal and email address should be included.

Each accepted Hands-On Demo will be provided with a table, electric power, panels ...additional equipment might be available on request.

For more information about hands-on demo , please contact Mrs Drif and Duriez.
