ABSTRACT:
Content Based Image Retrieval systems, which allow the user to process queries such as "retrieve images similar to a given image "from a large image database, has received a lot of attention in recent years due to emerging security concerns. Basically, the content based image retrieval system requires to extract image features, index them using appropriate structures and efficiently process user queries providing the required answers. This has led to bring at same stage issues related to image processing, information Retrieval and database communities together. This talk attempts to review the state of the art at each stage and will focus on similarity measures construction where alternatives to Earth Mover's Distance will be put forward.Fuzzy based reasoning will also be approached and discussed.
